American actress Gwyneth Paltrow married the British lead singer and songwriter of the rock band Coldplay on December 5 or 2003. The couple was married in a secret wedding ceremony in California at a hotel. The two met when she was backstage at one of his concerts.
The couples first child together is a daughter that they named Apple Blythe Alison Martin, and was born on May 14 of 2004 in London, England. A friend of Chris Martin had a daughter with the name Apple, and they liked it so much that they asked to borrow it for their daughter. "It sounded so sweet and it conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet and they're wholesome and it's biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and … clean!
