Good Album
In my opinion Jay should have released this before the Blueprint 2. He would have sold copies of this like crazy simply because it's the new Jay-z album, then if he would have released the Blueprint 2 afterwards it would have sold just as much because there were so many additional songs. Who is going to buy the Blueprint 2.1 when you can get the Blueprint 2 with all the songs of this album plus an additional album of songs for the same price. I own every Jay-z album and this was a great album in my opinion. I just didn't understand the logic behind it? Either way if you're a rap fan you should have this or the Blueprint 2: The Gift and The Curse in your collection.

Buy Blueprint 2
The album Blueprint 2.1 is pretty average, especially for someone like Jay-Z. There are a few great cuts like "03 Bonnie and Clyde", "Excuse Me Miss", and "A Dream" which samples Biggie's lyrics in his song "Juicy" from Ready to Die. Over half the album is filler though, like "The Bounce".
You could just get the Blueprint 2 and pay the same amount and still get more tracks. You could just make this mix on your computer. I mean why pay more for less songs if you could have it all with Blueprint 2 (and a cooler cover). 2.1 is 3 stars because of the solid tracks.
I reccomend 2.1 to any crazy Jay-Z fan. If you are not a crazy fan, get Blueprint 2. If you are not a fan, then don't waste your money on an average Jay-Z album, when you can get much better one s like "Reasonable Doubt"

poor tracklisting
good in theory, although maybe too soon after the original release, but the tracklisting leaves much to be desired. There were some songs that were left off, such as 'Diamond Is Forever', that definitely should've been put on. And the most notable 2 tracks that shouldn't have made the cut were 'A Dream' and 'The Bounce'. Despite this, Jay-Z is still the lyrical king, and if you didnt pick up Blueprint 2, definitely get this one, you can't miss out on this project.

The King's perspective
The album is off the charts. The man obviously knows what he's doing. I had a wicked dream also, and after that I decided to call it quits with my music career. Being from Brooklyn, N.Y. myself I
know it's not easy coming up from the slums to make hit after hit.
Jay tells it like it is. From Reasonable Doubt all the way to Blueprint 2. For all those who are hating on the man and don't want to give credit where credit is due, it's all good. I give him
five stars on just the lyrics alone, because you gotta come from the same environment to understand. His footprints will never be
replicated, only tried to be duplicated!!!!!

Overall better than BP 2, but still...
This cut off all the wack stuff from Jay-Z's Blueprint 2 double album, which in my opinion is one of his most uninspired releases ever. However, this still has a lot of filler on it. There's a low point in the middle of the album and if those four songs were cut off, this would be a great 10 track album, and would rival some of Jay's best work (well, not rival, since Reasonable Doubt is classic, but it would be a good album in its own right). My opinion is that one should download Blueprint 2 and make a sick mix with one's own favorite songs. I didn't have this previous knowledge and went out and got 2.1 (not 2, thankfully), but now you have it, so get to it!
