The media states that singer and actress Ashlee Simpson met Peter Wentz at a Rolling Stones photo shoot that occured at the opening of Wentz's bar, Angels and Kings. Rather then an engagement ring, Pete gave Ashlee a promise ring first as a sign that he had yet to ask her father for her hand.
Ashlee announced the engagement on MTV's "Total Request Live" television show. The marriage was conducted by Ashlee's father Joe Simpson. Ashlee has taken her husband's name and is now going by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

| I love it! I think she is very pretty and could pull off most haitrucs anyways.Dena-I think it's the way her lips and mouth are pushed out that is making her look so different. And I think the short hair brings her cheek bones out a lot more than they were.As for Pete, he is a rocker, why would he have short hair? I personally think he is precious as well. |

| I am offended by the dull' coemnmt!Oh come on! She's got a whole team of people that make her look good! If we had that we would look as fresh' as she does & not so dull' & she has the means, if she doesn't like it, to do something else. We don't all have nannies & assistants & hair dressers & stylists at our disposal. |
