A new TomKat came into the world today as Katie Holmes gave birth to her first child with actor Tom Cruise today.  According to the Associated Press, the baby, named Suri (Hebrew for "Princess", and Persian for "Red Rose"), weighed 7 pounds-7 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

Cruise has an adopted son and an adopted daughter from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

Tom Cruise has told a German tabloid that he plans to marry Katie Holmes this summer.  The event will take place following the birth of their child, and after the release of Mission Impossible 3 according to the superstar actor.

Tomkat, as the couple is affectionately known, has seen plenty of rumors over the last few months both in favor and against the possibility of marriage.  Many have speculated that the couple was through after a tiff occurred between Cruise and Katie Holmes father during a visit to her hometown.

On a side note, be sure to pick up a copy of the Oscar nominated movie Brokeback Mountain, which is released tonight at midnight.  The movie stars celebrity couple member Heath Ledger.
