In a year sparked by high profile divorces, talk show antics, and big name hook-ups, we have chosen Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as the hottest celebrity couple on the Internet in 2005.

The selection process was based on three statistics; the popularity of couple web pages on the Celebrity Couples Online website, the popularity of search engine keywords involving both members of a couple, as well as the length of time each celebrity was listed on the Yahoo! Buzz index.  The Yahoo! Buzz index is a listing of the most popular search queries over the course of a given time period.

Visitors to the Celebrity Couples Online website visited the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie page 36% of the time.  The next closest couple was Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban with 14%, followed by Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston with 12%.

News outlets are reporting that Jennifer Garner has officially taken the last name of her husband, Ben Affleck. This move was made so that the couples daughter, Violet, would also share in the surname.

Hollwood.com has announced that Angelina Jolie has won their nod for Entertainer of the Year.

MuchMusic.com reports that Beyonce's boyfriend, Jay-Z, was in quite the giving mood this week when he sent out multiple limousines to pick up some pedestrians that were affected by the New York City transit strike.

Although there hasn't been alot of ground breaking news from our favorite Celebrity Couples, there is certainly some good notes.

Apparently Us Weekly made a mistake when they claimed they had wind of a Britney Spears sex tape.  Britney has returned the favor with a $20 Million dollar libel lawsuit.  Us Weekly is sticking by there source.

Katie Holmes has been enjoying her "birthday season" with an exotic night out in New York City from Tom Cruise, and then another night out with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith in Miami.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have a new show hitting the tube this week, and have also signed on with Disney for to possibly produce some more.

Nicole Kidman was apparently ripped on by a famous Australian comedian while she was present.  In what can only be considered as an ironic plot twist, she is scheduled to present that...

For Katie's 27th birthday, Tom Cruise rented out the FAO Schwartz in New York City.  Apparently he had it decked out in balloons that were weighted down with stuffed animals.  The night started with a trip to New York's Post House restaurant, followed by the toy store adventure, and ended with a trip to a skating rink in Central Park for Tom's daughter Isabella.  You can read more about this on our Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes page.

One of our Celebrity Couples has earned the distinction of being the the most searched for celebrity in 2005 according to Yahoo!.  Britney Spears was searched for millions of times over the course of the year.  Despite the Jennifer Aniston hype, and all the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie news, she has reclaimed a title she has actually won before.

Part of our job here at CelebrityCouples.net is to deliver content that people want to read concerning our list of Celebrity Couples.  One way that we determine what it is that our readers want, is to utilize some tools that are available to us to see what things people are searching the search engines for.  Yahoo does a great job of telling us what terms related to celebrities like Jennifer Aniston or Brad Pitt is hot.  During my daily research today, some things that I noticed were worthy enough to write this article about!

Let’s look at just the searches on Yahoo! that involved Ms. Aniston during the month of October. 358,000 people searched by her name only.  This makes sense because she has been all over the talk show circuit of late.  Where it gets interesting is after that.

Although Richard may not be part of our Celebrity Couples world, the staff here at Celebrity Couples Online would like to wish the family of Richard Pryor our condolences as he has passed away due to a heart attack at age 65.

Richard Pryor has been a comedic icon in Hollywood for Decades, bringing us such hits as ‘Brewster’s Millions’, ‘Superman 3’, and ‘See No Evil, Hear No Evil’.  And none of us will forget his on-screen friendship with actor Gene Wilder.

Paparazzi and Hollywood are two words that tend to go hand in hand.  Where would all of the embarrassing star photos be without the ever-determined paparazzi to take them?  However, it isn’t always easy being at the other end of the lens, especially if you’re dealing with pop singer Justin Timberlake and Charlie’s Angels star Cameron Diaz.

Back in 2004, Saul Lazo and Jose Gonzalez jumped out of a hiding spot to take pictures of Timberlake and Diaz.  Reacting to the fact that they were on a deserted street at night, Diaz and Timberlake responded defensively.  While Timberlake allegedly slapped Lazo on the head, Diaz rushed Gonzalez and stole his camera.  Apparently this was a defensive move so Diaz could determine the identity of her assailant.  Although she returned the camera to the police, Gonzalez and Lazo filed charges of grand theft and battery.  Diaz and Timberlake maintain that they acted in self-defense.

Apparently a photographer has taken some pretty interesting photos of Jennifer Aniston sunbathing topless in her back yard.  A lawsuit was filed by some attorneys in L.A. against a photographer whom they claim utilized a telephoto lens from a long distance to get the shots.  The photographer, in turn, claims he was outside the house and she was visible from the street so no laws were broken.  You can read the plethora of news articles covering this on our Celebrity Couples page for Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.

IN Touch magazine is reporting that Brad Pitt has officially petitioned to adopt the already adopted children of Angelina Jolie, and that they will even be taking his name.  This story is true as all major news sources are now carrying it.  The children, according to CNN, will use Jolie-Pitt as their surname.
